From the Vice President André Paquet :
It was in an enchanting historical setting, in this case at the Aux Trois Couvents museum in Château-Richer, and on a magnificent day, that the Michaud Family Association (AFMI) held its annual general meeting on Saturday, May 25. This event brought together 25 people, including two « on line », and this, in a most pleasant atmosphere, both thanks to the participants and to the museum employees who received us in an attentive manner and whom the AFMI warmly thanks.
Despite the absence of Madelaine Dubé-Michaud (1585), our president, this meeting took place normally thanks, in particular, to the technical support provided by the Museum and Alain Michaud (1480).
After the presentation of the report on activities for the year 2023 and the report on finances, the time had come for renewal within the board of directors. Initially, two members of the board decided not to renew their mandates, namely Lise Michaud-Landry (1375), who officiated as secretary, and Jean-Eudes Michaud (3), the genealogist of the AFMI. We would all like to thank them warmly for the unwavering interest they have shown in AFMI and this members as well as for the work accomplished and the quality of it.
Two new members have joined the Board of Directors, namely Pierrette Michaud (1694) and Charlaine Michaud (1433). At the last meeting of the Board of Directors, Pierrette agreed to act as secretary, and Charlaine as administrator. Réal Michaud (1536) has agreed to renew his mandate as director, and Madelaine Dubé-Michaud has agreed to renew his mandate as president of the AFMI. Following the departure of Jean-Eudes, Sylvain Michaud (1677) was taken over all of his tasks, thus becoming the official manager of the AFMI's genealogical database. Thank you all for your most appreciated involvement.
As in the past, the members of the Board of Directors will continue to move forward with new projects to ensure the sustainability of the AFMI and the dessemination of the Michaud's story. But above all, it is you, the members, who keep our association alive through your subscriptions, your donations, your texts published in Le Brelan and above all through your interest in the AFMI. We therefore invite you all to (continue to) get involved because the AFMI, like each of its members, is a living organism that need to be fed continuously and regularly !
Have a good autumn !
André Paquet, Vice President (1690)
