Dear members,

APRIL : The start of a new fiscal year, thus the end of the previous one.

Two important topics come up every year : membership renewals and the annual members’ meeting. I have started re-reading all the newsletters published since the beginning of our as-
sociation and these topics are always relevant when April rolls around. Did you know that your membership to the AFMI expires on March 31st ? Indeed, it is the same date for everyone… every year… or every three years… unless you are already a life member. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to send in your membership fees as soon as possible to remain a member of the Association, to continue receiving Le Brelan, and to maintain your right to attend the annual meeting and the right to speak and vote. Your membership fees are our organization’s only source of income ; we have no grants of any kind, nor any sponsors. Without your membership fees, the board will no longer be able to send you our newsletter, and we will no longer be able to provide you with our usual services.

With the income from your membership fees, we can organize our annual gathering. This year, we invite you to Drummondville, the center of Quebec, to meet your cousins from all over. The meeting moves to different regions every year to allow more members to take part. The registration form included in the newsletter gives you all the details: date, cost and activity. You must register quickly to reserve your seat and better allow us to plan this meeting.

Before signing off, have you seen the « wanted persons notice » in the last issue of the Brelan ? We are trying to locate life members that we have lost track of. I have not gotten a lot of replies. Go have a look and let me know if you have any info that can allow us to get in touch with them.

I wish you a wonderful spring, the season of renewal, hope and the promise of better times.

Looking forward to seeing you again very soon.
